About The Role
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Platform Engineer to join a dynamic global entertainment organization on a hybrid basis in London. This pivotal role involves supporting and enhancing a modern hybrid infrastructure environment that spans cloud and on-premise platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Kubernetes, Linux administration, automation, and platform reliability. You will play a critical role in maintaining the security, scalability, and high availability of essential systems that support a worldwide user base. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your expertise will directly impact the company's operational excellence and technological advancement.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid foundation in the following areas:
- Hands-on experience with the administration of sharded MongoDB clusters.
- Proficiency in building and managing Kubernetes environments, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and self-managed clusters.
- Experience designing and supporting highly available and resilient infrastructure.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, and rsyslog.
- Strong skills in infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and Bash scripting.
- Extensive Linux administration experience, particularly within Ubuntu environments.
- Exposure to medium or large-scale business environments, understanding their operational complexities.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across different locations and time zones.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Building, managing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters across diverse cloud and on-premise environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Supporting and administering databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, ensuring data integrity and high availability.
- Managing monitoring, alerting, and logging platforms to maintain system health and facilitate proactive issue resolution.
- Automating infrastructure deployment and management through Infrastructure as Code practices and scripting to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Maintaining high availability and resilience across critical systems, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.
- Managing access controls, permissions, and security policies within cloud platforms to safeguard sensitive data and infrastructure.
- Conducting troubleshooting, performance tuning, and platform optimization to ensure systems operate at peak efficiency.
- Developing and maintaining technical standards, best practices, and comprehensive documentation for internal teams.
- Providing technical support, guidance, and training to engineering teams to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable work environment.
