The Opportunity
We're seeking a DevOps & Python Engineer to join a programme delivering modern cloud-based services supporting immigration and border management systems.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Python development, AWS, and Kubernetes experience who enjoys building automation, developing cloud-native solutions, and improving platform services within an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop automation tools, APIs, and platform services using Python and Go.
- Automate infrastructure and cloud resource management within AWS.
- Support and enhance Kubernetes-based platforms and deployments.
- Integrate enterprise tooling including LDAP, HashiCorp Vault, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure high standards of testing, code quality, and security.
- Work closely with platform, development, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Essential Skills
- Strong commercial experience with Python development.
- Experience with Go (Golang).
- AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.
- HashiCorp Vault, LDAP/Active Directory integration.
- Git, GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI.
- Automated testing using Pytest and Go testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, automation, and CI/CD practices.
