DevOps Systems Administrator

Guildford (Hybrid)
£60,000 to £65,000

This is your chance to work on impactful infrastructure challenges in a growing business where your input matters. As a Senior DevOps Systems Administrator, you’ll lead automation efforts, work with cutting-edge tools, and be trusted to make key decisions that influence our direction.

Note: We will only accept CV from UK residents within a two-hour commute to Guildford.

The Role

This isn’t just a support role — it’s a chance to take ownership. You’ll help architect robust hybrid cloud solutions and streamline infrastructure with tools like Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions. You’ll grow your leadership skills by mentoring others and see the impact of your work across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy and support infrastructure across AWS and private cloud — shape scalable solutions that support real growth
  • Automate infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible — reduce manual tasks and free up time for innovation
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions — deliver faster and more reliable deployments
  • Implement observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch) — gain full visibility and improve system performance
  • Work across teams to improve reliability and security — be the go-to expert others rely on
  • Manage hybrid networks, IAM, firewalls and VPNs — grow your cloud networking knowledge
  • Join the on-call rota and respond to incidents — build resilience and problem-solving experience
  • Create and maintain documentation — help others learn from your work and establish best practice

Essential Skill’s – Must Have’s

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • 5+ years of DevOps experience, including hands-on AWS
  • Experience with VMware or Proxmox
  • Strong Linux skills, with networking and cloud security knowledge
  • Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes (e.g. EKS)
  • Confident scripting in Bash, Python or Go

Nice to Have:

  • AWS certifications
  • Knowledge of security tools like Trivy
