About Us
Peratera is a UK-based fintech company, founded in 2022 and authorised by the FCA as an Electronic Money Institution.
We are building a modern, all-in-one payment platform that enables businesses to manage global payments and financial operations seamlessly. Our solution allows companies to open multi-currency accounts, send and receive payments worldwide, and manage cross-border transactions from a single platform. Our mission is to simplify global finance and remove friction from international business operations.
Your Mission
As a DevOps / SRE Engineer at Peratera, you will own the reliability and scalability of a live fintech platform processing real financial transactions. You will build and evolve our cloud infrastructure, implement end-to-end observability, and drive automation across deployment and operations - working closely with engineering teams to make systems more resilient, observable, and easy to operate.
Your Tech Environment
You will work in a modern, cloud-native stack with clear ownership and a defined direction:
- Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM), Kubernetes, Docker
- CI/CD & IaC: GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Terraform (or similar)
- Observability: Prometheus + Grafana, CloudWatch → OpenSearch / ELK (target), OpenTelemetry (roadmap)
- Data & Messaging: PostgreSQL, event-driven message brokers (AMQP / Kafka patterns)
- Platform: Java / Spring Boot microservices, high-load financial transaction processing, external bank and payment integrations

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
