DFRP Training Instructor/ Assessor
Job Description
Responsible for delivering high quality practical instruction and training
Plans and delivers sessions in line with approved standards documentation to ensure all learning outcomes are achieved.
Provides training support as a second instructor or safety instructor and ensures equipment is fit for purpose and reports any defects as required.
Undertakes practical assessment to confirm competence in specific task-based skill.
Proactively contributes to course design, review and modernisation activities in the capacity of Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Proactively maintains currency and competence of skills, qualifications and experience in line with technical experience and role requirements.
Depending on area of work, e.g., risk to life, workshop, responsible for adhering to risk assessments and reducing hazards, whilst working safely in accordance with Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, and Safe systems at work.
About You
- Working knowledge and experience in relevant technical field
- Education/Learning/Assessor qualifications relevant to role
- Experience of delivery instruction/training
- Knowledge to respond to learners' needs; professionally as a technical subject matter expert and educationally as a learning practitioner
- Ability to contribute to the course design, review and modernisation activities in the role of SME
- Share peer-to-peer competency knowledge and best practice in accordance with skills, qualifications and experience or equivalent and competence package
About Fire Service College
The Fire Service College (FSC) is a world-renowned further education training college that provides a range of resilience-focused courses and programmes ranging from apprenticeships to fully accredited qualifications. On a 300-acre site, FSC provides both practical and classroom-based learning in addition to remote/customer site-delivered courses. FSC courses and programmes are accredited with SFJ Awards, Highfields, Institution for Fire Engineers, FireQual, Lantra, JOIFF, and Proboard/NFPA. Customers range from fire and rescue services, police forces, ambulance services, the military, various commercial organisations to individuals who wish to further their careers. FSC attracts learners from international fire and rescue services from the Middle East and across Europe.
