Job Description

NHS Band 5 Salary: £32,073 - £39,043 per annum
Hours Per Week: 2 X full time 37.5 hrs (part time considered).
Contract Type: Permanent

Portsmouth University Hospital Trust is recruiting Band 5 Radiographers with a passion for plain film. This is an excellent opportunity to welcome newly qualified Radiographers with HCPC registration to join our dynamic and friendly team. We would of course also welcome applications from experienced Radiographers wishing to relocate and looking for new challenges.

Job Summary

  • To conduct diagnostic radiography examinations across a range of general radiography, upon a range of patient types both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi-professional team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements.
  • To independently assess each patient and adapt radiographic techniques according to the needs of the patient.
  • To use professional discretion and experience to ensure that clinical practice is carried out correctly, professionally and within the legal framework.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Hold current HCPC registration

Experience:
Essential:

  • Understanding of current Ionising Radiation Regulations
  • Evidence of CPD

Desirable:

  • Previous NHS experience
  • Previous trauma radiography experience

Skills & Knowledge:
Essential:

  • High levels of concentration and attention to detail
  • Co-ordination and sensory skills for precise positioning of patients with narrow margin for error
  • Speed and accuracy
  • Understanding of current Ionising Radiation Regulations (2017) and Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposures) Regulations (2017)
  • Demonstrate specialized keyboard skills required for image manipulation
  • Professional Appearance
