Diagnostic Technician Solihull
£36,000 - £39,000 Basic | £48,000+ OTE | Uncapped Bonus | Paid Overtime
MOT-qualified Technicians receive an additional £125 per month
Are you an experienced Diagnostic Technician looking for a busy main dealership where your technical ability will be recognised and rewarded? We are recruiting for a Diagnostic Technician to join a successful dealership workshop in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys complex fault finding and wants strong earning potential alongside advanced technical training.

Diagnostic Technician Role
As a Diagnostic Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out advanced vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
- Identifying complex electrical and mechanical faults
- Using modern diagnostic equipment and technical systems
- Interpreting diagnostic data to accurately identify vehicle faults
- Completing repairs to manufacturer standards
- Supporting other Vehicle Technicians with technical expertise and guidance when required
- Carrying out electronic vehicle health checks and identifying additional work
- Accurately recording diagnostic procedures, findings and completed repairs
- Working closely with Service Advisors and the wider workshop team
Diagnostic Technician Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
- Strong diagnostic experience within a main dealership or busy independent workshop
- Confident using modern diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical data
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
- Electrical diagnostic experience highly desirable
- MOT Tester licence desirable but not essential
- Methodical approach to complex fault finding
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop
- Full UK driving licence
