Location: Taunton (Somerset)

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 OTE/annum Subject to Qualifications

Job Type: Full Time

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join our client’s busy dealership in Taunton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Technician looking to develop their career within a professional and well-established automotive environment.

Diagnostic Technician – Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out complex diagnostic investigations and repairs across a range of vehicles.
  • Diagnose electrical, electronic and mechanical faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
  • Complete vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs to a high standard.
  • Identify faults efficiently and provide accurate technical solutions.
  • Carry out vehicle health checks and ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all diagnostic work and repairs undertaken.
  • Work closely with the Service Department to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician within a franchised dealership or independent automotive environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / IMI Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience with manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical information systems.
  • A strong understanding of modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • A professional approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
