Diagnostic Technician Birmingham

We are recruiting for an experienced Diagnostic Technician, Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician or Motor Vehicle Technician to join a busy main dealership workshop in Birmingham. Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, have strong diagnostic experience, hold a Full UK Driving Licence and have the right to work in the UK. MOT Tester status is desirable but not essential.

  • Location: Birmingham
  • Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 basic
  • OTE: £48,000+
  • Bonus: Uncapped
  • Additional Payment: £125 per month for MOT-qualified Technicians
  • Hours: Flexible shift patterns available, with paid overtime including Saturdays

Diagnostic Technician Role

  • Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
  • Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical faults
  • Use modern diagnostic equipment and technical systems
  • Interpret diagnostic data accurately
  • Complete servicing, maintenance and repairs to required standards
  • Support other Vehicle Technicians with technical issues
  • Carry out electronic vehicle health checks
  • Record diagnostic findings and completed repairs accurately
  • Work closely with Service Advisors and the wider workshop team

Diagnostic Technician Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician, Vehicle Technician or Automotive Technician
  • Strong diagnostic experience within a main dealership or busy independent workshop
  • Confident using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
  • Electrical diagnostic experience is highly desirable
  • MOT Tester Licence is desirable but not essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Right to work in the UK
