Salary
- Base: £42,000
- OTE: £54,000
Qualifications
- Strong diagnostic abilities, including the skills to diagnose vehicle faults and interpret diagnostic data accurately.
- Proficiency in vehicle maintenance and repair practices, with hands-on experience in servicing, mechanical work.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to colleagues and customers.
- Relevant automotive qualifications (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent) and experience in a workshop or MOT environment.
- Familiarity with modern diagnostic tools, software, and manufacturer guidelines, and the willingness to learn new technologies.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a safety-conscious approach to working with vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, manage time effectively, and adapt to a busy, customer-driven environment.

Role Description
The Diagnostic Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater London, responsible for identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical faults in a wide range of vehicles. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostic tests using specialized tools and software, interpreting fault codes, and carrying out appropriate repairs. The role involves carrying out routine maintenance, and supporting repair work to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards. The Diagnostic Technician will collaborate with other technicians, communicate findings clearly to service advisors, and help explain technical issues to customers in accessible terms. The role also includes maintaining accurate records of diagnostic procedures, parts used, and work completed, while adhering to health and safety guidelines and company quality standards.
