Are you a Diesel Engine Engineer looking for a varied workshop and field-based role with a global pump hire company, offering specialist pump training, overtime and excellent long-term career progression?
This specialist pumping solutions provider delivers high-performance pump hire equipment and engineered fluid handling systems to the construction, mining, utilities and industrial sectors. Supporting critical operations including dewatering, wastewater management and flood control, they provide reliable pumping solutions trusted by contractors, infrastructure providers and environmental operators across the UK.
In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel-powered equipment from the workshop, while also attending customer sites across the East Midlands. You will work on a variety of mechanical systems, including diesel engines, pumps and associated equipment, with full training provided on the company's specialist pump equipment.

This role would suit a Diesel Engine Engineer, Diesel Technician, Plant Engineer, Generator Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, HGV Mechanic or Service Engineer with experience working on diesel engines who is looking to develop specialist skills within the pumping industry.
The Role:
- Service, maintain and repair diesel engines, pumps and associated mechanical equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs in the workshop and on customer sites
- Attend customer sites across the East Midlands to install, service and maintain equipment
- Inspect, prepare and test pump equipment ready for customer use
- Participate in an on-call rota with full training provided on specialist pump equipment
The Person:
- Experience working with diesel engines is essential
- Mechanical engineering, fitting, plant, agricultural, generator, HGV or similar background
- Experience diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs
- Comfortable working both in a workshop and on customer sites
- Full UK driving licence
- Commutable to Derby
