Who we are
Apollo, a Skyward Group company, is an innovation-inspired insurance platform operating at Lloyd’s of London, delivering data-driven and creative solutions across a broad range of risks.
Our name reflects our origins. Inspired by one of our founding investors, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, the business was built with the same pioneering mindset. Alongside Jim Hays, Neil set out to create a different kind of Lloyd’s platform, focused, agile and built around people.
Since launch in 2009, we have grown into a diversified insurance group offering products across Property, Casualty, Marine, Energy and Transportation, Specialty and Reinsurance, alongside Smart Follow and digital and embedded risk programmes. Our experience and unique ecosystem give Platform Partners the best chance of success, from navigating the Lloyd’s new entrant process through to the delivery of their long-term strategy.
With a team of more than 300 professionals, we continue to grow with purpose, combining underwriting excellence, innovation and collaboration to enable a more resilient and sustainable world.
Your Role
Apollo is building something genuinely new in the Lloyd's market: a collective intelligence capability that combines AI, automation and connected data to make smarter underwriting decisions.
We're looking for someone who can get ahead of adoption challenges before they happen. As we build and ship new capability – AI tools, automation, collective intelligence functionality this role ensures that what we build actually lands: that colleagues have the skills, confidence and understanding to use the technology well in their day-to-day work.
This is a technical training delivery and enablement role. It needs someone who can understand new digital tools quickly, identify the skills colleagues need to use them effectively and translate that into practical support that builds confidence and capability across the organisation. You'll need to understand training needs analysis, be able to spot barriers to change early and know how to design interventions that help people move from awareness to confident day-to-day use.
You'll report into our Senior L&D Manager and work day-to-day with Digital Solutions, which runs our product, engineering, data, AI and digital enablement functions.
What You Will Do
Working closely with our product and delivery teams, you'll get under the skin of what we're building, assess the skills and knowledge colleagues need and translate that into practical, iterative technical training and adoption activity across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
That means: understanding who's using what and how well, carrying out focused training needs analysis, diagnosing what's blocking adoption or might block adoption (skills gap, confidence, process friction, the tool itself), designing targeted interventions, delivering hands-on support, and tracking whether they work. Then doing it again as the product evolves.
You'll be the connective tissue between people building the technology and people using it day to day. That requires being comfortable in both worlds; sitting in sprint reviews one day, running a drop-in session for underwriters the next.
Specifically, you will:
- Develop a clear picture of adoption across the organisation: where we're getting traction, where we're not, and why
- Partner with product and delivery teams ahead of releases to shape how new functionality lands with users
- Design and deliver practical technical training and enablement activity. Not generic training programmes, but targeted, contextual support that meets people where they are and builds the skills, they need to use new tools confidently
- Use training needs analysis to identify capability gaps, confidence issues and change barriers, then turn those insights into focused learning interventions, communications and support
- Gather and synthesise user feedback that's actually useful to product teams, not just satisfaction scores
- Build a lightweight but sustainable adoption framework that doesn't depend on you being there forever
- Help colleagues across the business from AI enthusiasts to complete beginners to find genuine value in the tools we're building
What We Are Looking For
You've worked in digital transformation, business change or technology adoption before, and you know that the gap between "we've launched it" and "people are actually using it well" is where most value gets lost. You've spent real time in that gap.
You're genuinely tech-literate. Not just comfortable talking about technology, but someone who uses AI tools yourself, has opinions about what works and what doesn't, and can have a credible conversation with a product manager or engineer about how something is built. You don't need to write code, but you need to understand enough to be trusted by people who do.
You're a strong communicator and natural relationship-builder, but you back that up with structured thinking. You know how to diagnose why adoption is stalling, whether the issue is skills, confidence, process, motivation or resistance to change, and you can turn that diagnosis into practical training and enablement activity.

Experience in financial services or a regulated environment is useful but not essential. More important is whether you've worked in an environment where the technology was genuinely evolving. Not a one-time platform rollout, but a continuous stream of new capability where the adoption challenge never really stops.
What you’ll get in return
We offer a competitive and thoughtfully designed reward package that reflects the value of our people. This includes a fair and attractive salary, discretionary bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package - including 31 days’ annual leave, a non-contributory pension and private medical insurance.
Our commitment to inclusion
At Apollo, people are at the heart of everything we do. We are a diverse, growing team of empowered experts who bring collaboration, innovation and data-driven thinking to every relationship and every risk.
We believe diversity and inclusion go far beyond targets. They are essential to understanding the global communities we serve and to making better decisions. That’s why we are committed to developing diverse talent at every level and creating an environment where different perspectives are genuinely valued, supported and celebrated.
We also run a programme of events, training and initiatives designed to recognise both the challenges and opportunities that come with building an inclusive workplace.
Hybrid & flexible working
Flexible and hybrid working are fully embraced at Apollo. We do not believe in presenteeism. Instead, we trust our people to work in ways that allow them to perform at their best, balancing professional responsibilities with personal commitments.
