The National Federation of Women’s Institutes - the largest and most influential UK-based women’s organisation - is looking for a Digital and Technology Manager to take ownership of their digital and technology platforms.
About the Role
Taking ownership of their digital and technology platforms, you will actively support campaigns that improve the lives of women. In particular, you will optimise their website, CRM and social media to grow traffic, engagement, and conversions through reporting and A/B testing and proactively review digital content based on SEO changes and evolving organisational needs. At the same time, you will assist colleagues in delivering diverse digital projects whilst identifying opportunities for automation and championing best practice in everything you do. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

If you have a background with a membership, charity, or campaigning organisation, so much the better, and knowledge of an Enterprise CMS (Squiz Matrix, Sitecore, Umbraco) plus HTML and A/B testing, CRO, UX, AI, and analytics tools would be very useful. However, it’s your resilience and adaptability that will matter most, backed by a highly creative mindset and deep understanding of the latest digital trends.
