We are working with a Public Sector organisation who are seeking an experienced Digital Workplace Architect to join their team, driving the strategic design, technical governance, and delivery of high-performing Microsoft 365 and cloud-based workplace solutions.
In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor, translating complex business requirements into scalable solution designs aligned with Enterprise Architecture principles. You will champion modern management, automation, and data security while fostering an agile, digital-first culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Advisory & Architecture: Provide strategic consultancy on Digital Workplace technologies. Design and document scalable end-to-end solutions, ensuring adherence to Enterprise and Solution Architecture frameworks.
- M365 & Azure Platform Strategy: Lead the technical design, configuration, and administration of Microsoft 365 services, Azure, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions.
- Data Security & Governance: Oversee information management, data protection, and compliance policies within M365 Purview, including advanced email threat protection and policy management.
- Automation & Engineering: Leverage PowerShell, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), and ITSM integration tools to drive operational efficiencies, system maintenance, and workflow automation.
- Strategic Influence & Leadership: Communicate key initiatives to stakeholders, adapt communication styles across cross-functional teams, and build compelling cases for technology investments.
- Emerging Tech & AI: Evaluate emerging technologies, modern end-user devices (Windows 10/11), User Experience (DEX) monitoring tools, and modern AI capabilities to enhance end-user productivity.
- Agile & Continuous Improvement: Drive high-performing agile practices, ensuring solution compliance with ITIL frameworks, robust operational SLAs, and business objectives.

Key Qualifications
- Expertise in Microsoft Ecosystem: Extensive track record architecting and managing Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint Online, and modern endpoint management.
- Enterprise Architecture: Proven experience translating complex business needs into solution blueprints following recognized EA/SA frameworks.
- Identity & Security: In-depth technical knowledge of IAM, M365 Purview, governance, and data protection strategies.
- Automation & Scripting: Strong PowerShell scripting skills for enterprise automation, system integration, and troubleshooting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional strategic communication, problem-solving, and cross-team influencing capabilities.
- Agile & ITIL Practices: Practical experience operating within ITIL frameworks, agile environments, and high-availability operational SLAs.

The role is offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis for 22 months and can be based at any of the organisation's regional hubs - London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Cardiff, and Glasgow.
