We are looking for experienced Digital Assets Consultants
We are looking for experienced Digital Assets Consultants, who are both a Collateral domain expert and Transformation specialist, to help on high-impact advisory and transformation engagements, partnering with leading financial institutions on some of the industry’s most exciting and innovative projects. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in solving complex challenges, driving change, and delivering tangible value for high-profile clients.
Role Description
Tonic is searching for Consultants, with deep collateral domain and transformation expertise. Key tasks are included below.
- Digital collateral education
- Key tokenised collateral use cases
- Key market vendors
- Industry benchmarking
- Key challenges and solutions
- Contribution to thought leadership pieces
- Validation of collateral use cases, for new digital collateral service
- Pros & cons per use case
- Cost-benefit outcomes
- Presentation to management
- Target operating model design
- Business requirement definition
- Process breakdown
- Functional requirements
- Data requirements
- Non-functional requirements
- Detailed vendor analysis
- Vendor demos and workshops
- Vendor gap analysis, vs business requirements
- Solution design validation
- Business validation of IT solution design
- Creation of high-quality artefacts throughout, to be shared with multiple divisions across the client, to capture and communicate key information for successful implementation:
- Industry benchmarking
- Scope matrix
- Use case summary
- Business process flows
- Target operating model (IT, Data, Process, People, Governance)

Domain Experience - Must-have
Experience in designing in key DLT Cap Markets Use Cases:
- E.g. Tokenised Collateral, Digital Cash, Digital Fund Issuance, Digital Securities Issuance, Crypto Custody
Strong end-to-end operational process knowledge of multiple collateral products, including:
- Derivatives (OTC bilateral, OTC cleared, Listed derivatives)
- Sec Finance (Securities Lending & Repo)
Strong end-to-end operational process knowledge, including best practice, across:
- Inbound data
- Margin call management
- Dispute management
- Substitutions
- Inventory management
- Rehypothecation
- Settlement
- Collateral optimization & analytics
- Reconciliations
- Client reporting
Strong experience of different collateral asset types, including operational and legal considerations (Bonds, Equities, MMFs etc.)
Deep knowledge of traditional collateral operating models, including:
- Bilateral model
- Triparty model
- Cleared model
Transformation Experience
-
10 years experience as a Business Analyst/Product Owner
- Experience of core Business Analyst/Product Owner tasks, including:
- Detailed analysis and presentation of findings
- Definition of business requirements across multiple streams
- Functional, data, non-functional
- Agile - Epics, user stories, acceptance criteria
- Assessing and selecting new technology vendor solutions
- Functional solution review and validation
- Target operating model design, across:
- Process
- Technology
- Data
- People
- Governance
- Controls
- Other
- Confident and strong communicator, with all levels and types of stakeholders
- Ability to create high-quality transformation artefacts, as outlined above in the Role Description
- Business-focused, but able to work with technology, data, risk and legal teams
- Strong Microsoft Office application skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

Desirable Experience & Skills
- Previous experience working for a financial services consultancy
- Experience in multiple transformation methodologies (Agile etc.)
- Collateral experience within both sell-side and buy-side firms
- Direct experience of DLT collateral operating models
- Understanding of custody operating models, including:
- Custody account structures, plus legal treatments of assets
- Books and records
- Strong knowledge of trading functions, including derivatives and securities finance
