Digital Engineer (CAD) | Watford | 40k to 45k

A growing engineering consultancy in Watford is looking for a CAD focused Digital Engineer to join a close-knit team delivering major infrastructure projects across rail and surface transport.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong CAD foundation who is keen to build their digital engineering, BIM, and 3D modelling skills. The team values aptitude and the right attitude as much as a fully finished skillset, so it suits someone eager to learn, develop, and grow into the role.

About the role

You will:

  • Produce and coordinate high-quality 2D and 3D CAD deliverables across infrastructure projects
  • Support BIM and digital engineering requirements, including 3D and 4D modelling
  • Create, manage, and maintain engineering models and design information
  • Work within Common Data Environments to manage engineering information
  • Support the implementation of digital engineering standards and best practice
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and project teams to drive efficient delivery

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
