Digital Capabilities Lead

Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent

Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home

Salary range £40,000 to £45,000 pa plus benefits

At the University of the Built Environment, our digital campus is central to how we teach, support and inspire our students. With significant growth and development planned over the next five years, we're looking for a Digital Capabilities Lead to help shape the future of digital learning across the University.

You'll lead the development of digital skills and confidence across our Academic and Professional Services teams, ensuring colleagues can make the most of our evolving digital environment. Working closely with a team of digital learning specialists, you'll design and deliver innovative resources, workshops and initiatives that enhance digital practice, support our TEF ambitions, and enhance the student experience.

  • Lead initiatives that enhance digital confidence, competence and innovation across academic and professional services functions, in line with the University’s Competency Framework
  • Develop learning pathways tailored to different staff roles, professional groups and levels of digital maturity
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes and interventions using evidence-based approaches

Our main requirements:

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in digital learning, educational and learning technologies or a related field
  • Previous use of educational technologies, digital and online learning environments to support learning and learners
  • Experience of planning, developing and delivering learning interventions using a range of face-to-face, online and blended approaches
  • Advanced digital skills, including strong expertise in the use of Microsoft 365, AI, and specialist digital learning and assessment platforms
