Company Description

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland (SBH Scotland) is a national charity providing lifelong support and information to people in Scotland affected by spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and related conditions. Established in 1965, the organization works to increase public awareness and understanding while empowering individuals and families to make informed choices and achieve the best possible quality of life. SBH Scotland offers support at every stage, from pregnancy and birth through childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, including advocacy during critical medical interventions. Throughout the year, it delivers family groups, specialist projects for children, conferences, carers’ weekends, bereavement support, health check clinics, social groups, and operates a lo-call helpline. The team is committed to person-centered support and inclusive services across Scotland.

Role Description

The Digital Communication Lead is a part-time, hybrid role based in Dullatur, with a balance of on-site work and the option to work from home. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and managing digital communications across the organization’s website, email campaigns, social media channels, and other online platforms to promote SBH Scotland’s services, events, and advocacy work.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Developing and implementing digital communication strategies
  • Producing accessible and engaging content
  • Monitoring online engagement and analytics
  • Ensuring consistent messaging aligned with the charity’s values and brand

The Digital Communication Lead will collaborate with colleagues across services and fundraising to support campaigns, coordinate digital projects, and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, supporters, and partner organizations. The role also involves identifying opportunities to improve digital reach, testing new approaches, and reporting on performance to inform future planning.

Qualifications

  • Strong Digital Strategy and Digital Marketing skills to plan and deliver effective online campaigns and communication initiatives.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Robust Analytical Skills to interpret digital metrics, user behavior, and campaign performance, and to make data-informed recommendations.
  • Effective Project Management skills to coordinate digital projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Beneficial experience and skills:

  • Relevant experience in charity, health, or social care settings
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital content
