NATS is the UK’s leading air navigation service provider, handling over 2.4 million flights each year. We provide air traffic control services from two control centres and at airports around the UK. We also provide a wide range of commercial products and solutions internationally. Our people are at the heart of our purpose to advance aviation and keep the skies safe.
Context:
UKADS will drive the UK Airspace Modernisation Strategy through the redesign of airspace and completion of the regulatory change process for some of the busiest and most complex airspace in the world. This multi-year, highly sensitive programme will face high-profile scrutiny. Effective communications, stakeholder engagement and consultation will therefore be mission critical to maintaining support, confidence and reputation and ultimately to successful programme delivery.
Purpose of the role:
Shape the development and delivery of the digital communications strategy for UKADS and airspace modernisation in support of NATS' vision, strategy and priorities. The role will support the development of digital storytelling, online content, web platforms and visual communications, ensuring that complex technical information is accessible, engaging and audience-focused.
Accountabilities
- In support of the UKADS Senior Communications Manager, work with subject matter experts across NATS to develop and deliver tailored digital communications strategies, plans and campaigns supporting UKADS and airspace modernisation priorities.
- Provide expert digital communications advice in response to emerging airspace modernisation issues, developing appropriate solutions and supporting subject matter experts to strengthen their digital communications capability and decision making.
- Produce high-quality, compelling digital content across a range of formats, including video, animation, graphics, infographics, websites, social media and written material.
- Lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of UKADS and airspace modernisation digital platforms, channels and campaigns, ensuring they are accurate, accessible, audience-focused and effective in engaging external stakeholders.
- Work proactively with the NATS Digital Communications team, the wider Communications team and relevant business areas to ensure UKADS and airspace modernisation messaging and activity is aligned, consistent and effectively delivered across NATS channels.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on digital communications performance, using insight and analytics to identify opportunities, inform future activity and improve stakeholder communications.
- Define and scope external agency support required for digital communications activity. Support procurement and appointment and manage delivery against agreed briefs, quality standards and value-for-money expectations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
