Job Description Summary
This is a Fixed Term, Full Time position until 31st March 2030 due to specific funding.
We are looking to recruit a creative digital content creator to highlight the rich cultural offer and heritage of the city through engaging digital content.
The role will include closely working with the local cultural sector to promote events, organisations and opportunities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for digital content and digital channels. The successful candidate will understand the nuances of a wide-range of digital and social media channels. They will be proactive and forthcoming with ideas, possess a creative flair and have the ability to think strategically when it comes to content and content planning.
ROLE AND PURPOSE
The post holder will help tell the story of Hull through engaging, high-quality content that celebrates the city, its people and its communities, and connects with residents and visitors across our digital channels.
This is a hands-on role focused on producing compelling content for social media and beyond. The post holder will create video, photography and graphics that showcase Hull’s cultural life, events and identity helping us communicate in a more creative, modern and audience-focused way.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Create engaging video, photography and graphic content that captures Hull’s culture, communities and events.
- Turn communications briefs into creative, story-led content that resonates with audiences.
- Contribute ideas to campaigns, helping shape how the city and its stories are presented.
- Spot opportunities to tell stories in real time, responding to events, trends and moments across the city.
- Use performance insights to refine and improve how stories are told and shared.
