On behalf of MOJ, we are looking for a Digital Content Designer (Learning Designer) for a 6 month (Inside IR35) contract based Remote (Occasional office travel).
About the Role
We are seeking two experienced Digital Content Designers (Learning Designers) to support the design and development of the revised Foundation Training Programme for HMPPS.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for designing engaging, high quality learning products that support the development of prison officers throughout their training journey. Working closely with subject matter experts, policy teams and stakeholders, you will transform complex information into accessible, operationally relevant learning solutions.
This is a hands on design role requiring individuals who can work independently, build strong stakeholder relationships and produce learning content at pace while maintaining high quality standards.
As a Digital Content Designer (Learning Designer), your main responsibilities will be to:
- Design and develop engaging learning products and training materials for the HMPPS Foundation Programme.
- Apply learning design principles and methodologies to create effective learning experiences.
- Work closely with policy teams, stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather requirements and accurately translate them into learning solutions.
- Create learning content that is accessible, engaging and aligned to organisational policies and operational requirements.
- Create learning materials using tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360 and Adobe products.
- Participate in agile design activities, workshops and sprint based delivery.
- Ensure learning products meet agreed quality standards and support programme delivery milestones.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and share best practice across the design team.
- Manage multiple workstreams and priorities within a fast paced programme environment.

Essential:
- Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Practical experience applying learning design theory to the development of learning products.

Desirable:
- Previous experience within the Civil Service or wider Public Sector.
- Experience designing learning solutions for operational or frontline workforces.
- Experience within justice, prison, probation, policing, or law enforcement environments.
- Experience supporting large scale learning or transformation programmes.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
