Digital Data, Systems & Insights Officer

Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking a Digital Data, Systems & Insights Officer to support the development, enhancement, and effective operation of the Group's digital systems, reporting tools, and data processes.

About the Role

Working within the Information Development Team as part of the Management Information Systems (MIS) function, you will play a key role in ensuring our core systems and reporting solutions are reliable, efficient and aligned with the needs of both Group management and learners.

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of internal applications, scripts, and system integrations, helping to enhance existing platforms through troubleshooting, functionality improvements and the delivery of new features. You will support the design and optimisation of data flows across systems, undertake testing and quality assurance activities and maintain clear technical documentation to ensure robust and effective digital solutions across the Group.

A significant part of the role will involve developing and maintaining SQL queries, reports and data extracts, as well as supporting and enhancing MS Reporting services reports and Power BI dashboards. Working closely with senior developers, you will help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data, while supporting compliance with College policies and relevant regulatory requirements. You will also investigate data issues, identify opportunities for process improvement, and implement effective solutions that drive better insight and decision-making across the Group.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
