Digital Delivery Lead | Retail Digital Transformation

Duration: Initial 6 Months
Location: Reading (Hybrid, 1 - 2 Days Per Week)
Contract Type: Inside IR35 Day Rate

We're looking for an experienced Digital Delivery Lead to drive the successful delivery of technology initiatives across a key Digital & Customer Technology platform within a large-scale international retail environment. This role is ideal for a delivery professional with strong experience leading complex technology programmes in a scaled Agile retail environment, with particular exposure to Digital, CRM, Marketing Technology (MarTech), Customer Data Platforms, and Data-led transformation initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end delivery across a key Digital & Customer Technology platform.
  • Manage and prioritise demand from multiple projects, product teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Drive delivery across internal teams, external suppliers, and technology partners.
  • Ensure successful planning, governance, risk management, and execution of technology initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with Product Owners, Product Managers, Architects, Engineering teams, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier performance and delivery in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams to overcome challenges and deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Support delivery across customer-facing digital products, CRM platforms, marketing technologies, and customer data capabilities.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years' experience in Delivery Management, Programme Delivery, or Project Delivery roles.
  • Proven track record delivering technology solutions within complex, cross-functional enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience delivering programmes in Scaled Agile environments (SAFe or similar).
  • Experience within retail technology, with a strong understanding of retail systems, operating models, and customer-focused transformation.
  • Experience delivering initiatives across Digital, CRM, Marketing Technology (MarTech), Customer Data, CDP, or Data Platform environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and multi-vendor delivery environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement at Head of and senior leadership level.
  • Strong planning, facilitation, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to lead through influence and coordinate diverse teams to deliver business outcomes.

Desirable Experience

  • Delivery experience across retail domains such as Digital, Customer Engagement, CRM, Customer Data, eCommerce, Supply Chain, Planning & Trading, Sourcing & ESG, or Store Operations.
  • Experience working with customer data platforms, personalisation technologies, loyalty platforms, or digital customer engagement solutions.
  • Professional certifications including SAFe, Scrum Master, PMP, PRINCE2, or APM.
