DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Digital Delivery Manager (GDS) (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the Exeter office as required.

About the Role

As a Digital Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the delivery and continuous improvement of complex digital and operational services.
  • Facilitate discovery, service improvement and service transformation activities in line with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and best practices.
  • Work closely with service owners, product managers, technical specialists and business stakeholders.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies and service impacts across teams and services.
  • Establish and continuously improve team ways of working in Agile environments.
  • Use delivery metrics and performance data to support decision making and service improvement.
  • Support the adoption of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards, service delivery principles and service-oriented ways of working.

PLEASE NOTE: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.

Please note, due to the short-term nature of this role and the speed at which we require a postholder in situ, preference may be given to candidates who hold active SC Clearance. However, candidates who are willing and eligible to undergo SC Clearance are also encouraged to apply.

Essential

  • Experience delivering and supporting complex digital and operational services, with a strong understanding of Government Digital Service (GDS) frameworks, standards and service delivery principles.
  • Experience delivering digital services within Agile environments.
  • Experience working within discovery phases and service improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting organisational service transformation programmes and service-oriented operating models.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across business, technical and operational teams.
  • Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies and service impacts.
  • Proven ability to establish and continuously improve team ways of working.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including technical specialists, product managers and service owners.

Desirable

  • Experience managing customer-facing or public-facing digital services.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL) principles and service operations.
  • Experience balancing live service support with delivery of new capabilities and enhancements.
  • Understanding of service performance measures, SLAs and operational reporting
