Type: Fixed-Term Contract (4 Months, Starting September)

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite, usual office hours)

The Opportunity

As we gear up for our busiest time of the year—Christmas Peak and Black Friday—our Creative team is expanding to deliver high-impact digital design at pace. We are looking for a Digital Designer to help craft customer-first visual content across all our marketing channels, including Email, Social, Site, and App. If you are a tool-savvy, fast-paced designer who thrives on creative problem-solving and wants hands-on experience using cutting-edge design and AI technologies, this is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on our peak commercial performance.

The Role Scope

Reporting to the Design & Campaign Manager, you will craft engaging, customer-first digital design content across all marketing channels during our key Christmas Peak trading period. Working alongside the Creative, Social, Communications, and Studio teams, you will produce high-volume visual assets—blending digital layout, editorial design, and image editing to deliver standout creative at pace.

Role Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Digital Asset Delivery

    • Deliver high-quality creative assets across all channel touchpoints, including Social, Email, Site, and App.
    • Execute high-volume image resizing and asset preparation for homepage and email components at pace.
    • Design customer-facing marketing, transactional, and onsite emails that engage our audience.
  • Peak Campaign Execution & Trading Agility

    • Provide creative assets for MandM social media channels, including paid assets across Google and Meta.
    • Adapt quickly to reactive trading requests during high-turnover peak promotional periods such as Black Friday.
    • Ensure all peak assets align with the seasonal campaign creative pack outlined by the Design Lead while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • AI Tools & Creative Innovation

    • Utilise generative AI design tools to generate high-end visual content and streamline asset delivery.
    • Proactively research industry trends, visual design, and AI advancements to bring fresh ideas to team meetings.
    • Resourcefully problem-solve and troubleshoot creative briefs or AI image outputs when initial renders require refinement.

  • Collaboration & File Management
    • Maintain impeccable project housekeeping, logical asset naming, and structured Adobe files across Windows servers.
    • Collaborate closely with channel teams and receive creative direction constructively to ensure seamless asset delivery.

About You

What We’re Looking For

  • Education or Commercial Experience: A Degree or Diploma in design (or related creative area), or equivalent experience working within a commercial design role (junior and entry-level candidates welcome).
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) with sound image manipulation and retouching abilities.
  • Agile & Organised: Able to work efficiently to tight turnarounds under pressure, managing multiple deliverables in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Forward-Thinking: A genuine interest in generative AI design tools and an eagerness to learn new technologies, such as Google's AI suite.
  • Commercial & Brand Focused: A keen eye for detail, customer focus, and the ability to strictly adhere to brand guidelines.
