About Commune

Commune is an intentionally designed self-care brand for those who see — and seek — the opportunity to create change. Rooted in beautiful design with a focus on natural formulations and true sustainability, each of our products is created to simplify our daily rituals.

Born in Somerset, we believe in slowing down, embracing the rhythms of nature, and crafting products that nourish both body and soul. Every detail — from meticulous, clean ingredient selection to fully recyclable packaging — reflects our commitment to responsible living and timeless beauty. We partner exclusively with the world's most prestigious retailers, hospitality venues, and private members' clubs to bring Commune into spaces that share our values of intentional design, sustainability, and considered luxury. Our partners include Harrods, Liberty, SSENSE, Mecca, Estelle Manor, and many more.

As a growing company, we're building something special: an intentional community that believes in the power of Togetherness: a sense of belonging, connection and collaboration. A celebration of like-minded people coming together to achieve great things that would never be possible if we acted alone.

We're now looking for a Digital Designer to help shape how Commune shows up across every digital touchpoint — from our ecommerce experience to social media and brand storytelling.

At Commune, you'll be part of a team that values creativity and care, where your work makes a tangible impact on people's well-being and the environment. We put people and community at the heart of everything we do, fostering a workplace where passion and purpose thrive. If you're seeking more than just a job — if you want to be part of a movement that redefines luxury through sustainability, design, and tradition — then we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

We're growing. Alongside our original home in Bruton, Somerset, we're opening our first London flagship in Marylebone. We're expanding our product range, entering new international markets through retail and hospitality partnerships, and growing our in-person workshops and experiences.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Whether it's on our own channels or across our retail network — physical or digital — Commune is driven by an obsession with design, research, and craft.

This is a hands-on, high-craft role for someone who wants to be genuinely close to the work — designing, making, and shaping how Commune shows up everywhere our community meets us, at a moment of real growth for the brand.

You'll report to our Art Director. We're a small team with close collaboration across every part of the company, so this role will be central — working directly with marketing, design, product, and the founders on a daily basis.

What You'll Do

  • Design and maintain our ecommerce experience, working within Shopify to bring new product launches, campaigns, and collections to life online
  • Design for organic and paid social — primarily Instagram and LinkedIn — translating our brand world into content that tells the Commune story and aesthetic
  • Design weekly broadcast emails and monthly automated email flows
  • Support the creation of photo and video content, from light editing and asset prep to sourcing, research, and art direction input
  • Design brand decks and presentations (via Figma Slides) for retail partners, press, and our internal sales team
  • Work closely with our Art Director, co-founders, and wider team to ensure design consistency across every touchpoint
  • Help evolve our visual identity as the brand expands into new markets, product categories, and retail partnerships

Who You Are

  • 3–5 years of design experience, ideally within a DTC branded environment in industries such as lifestyle, wellness, fragrance, designer fashion, or premium beauty; open to candidates from luxury hospitality and travel backgrounds
  • A digital-first designer with excellent taste, a strong and distinctive eye, and genuine curiosity for all things design
  • Mastery of Figma, with a portfolio that shows range across web, email, and social
  • Confidence working with imagery and video, with a strong sense of typography, composition, and layout
  • Solid understanding of ecommerce design principles, ideally with hands-on Shopify experience
  • A genuine interest in social media as a design discipline, not just a delivery channel
  • Comfort working at pace, across multiple projects, in a small and fast-moving team
  • Bonus: skill in digital and vector illustration; basic video editing (Premiere, CapCut, or similar); experience with a sustainability-led brand; or an interest in packaging/print design with skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
