About the Role

We're looking for a creative and commercially minded Digital Designer to create engaging digital experiences that support online trading, marketing campaigns, and customer propositions. You'll combine strong visual design skills with a customer-first mindset to deliver impactful and effective creative across a range of digital channels.

As a design expert, you'll provide strategic guidance on visual design and user experience, helping to shape customer journeys and optimise digital performance. You'll also coach and support colleagues, champion design best practice, and ensure all creative output aligns with brand standards and business objectives.

  • Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary.

You will be responsible for

  • Creating compelling, customer-focused digital designs across our online channels, bringing the Tesco and F&F brands to life through effective use of visual design, typography and imagery.
  • Translating briefs into high-quality creative solutions, delivering excellence, consistency and innovation in every project.
  • Taking ownership of the quality and accuracy of your work, with strong attention to detail and effective prioritisation skills.
  • Collaborating with content, copywriting and publishing teams to deliver creative work to the highest standards.
  • Partnering with UX and UI teams to create seamless, engaging and customer-centric digital experiences.
  • Contributing to wider Tesco projects and initiatives, ensuring designs support a joined-up, consistent customer experience.
  • Designing and optimising content across a range of devices and screen sizes.
  • Supporting digital marketing activity, including social media, email and display advertising, across both static and animated formats.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and working collaboratively across the business.
  • Staying up to date with the latest design trends, tools and best practices to continuously raise creative standards.
  • Taking a proactive approach to personal development and professional growth.
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.

You will need

  • Proven experience in digital design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative and customer-focused work across digital channels.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Experience using digital design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Strong graphic design skills, including image editing, typography, layout, composition and animation.
  • An understanding of HTML and CSS and how design translates into digital experiences.
  • Experience working with Workfront or similar workflow and project management tools.
  • A keen interest in ecommerce and creating designs that drive customer engagement and commercial performance.
  • The ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain design concepts clearly and without jargon.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and responding quickly to changing business needs.
