Information Manager / Digital Engineer

The Information Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of project information management arrangements, ensuring compliance with client requirements, contractual obligations and BS EN ISO 19650 standards. The role leads the development, implementation and maintenance of project information management processes, including Common Data Environment (CDE) governance, information standards, workflows, quality assurance and asset information delivery. The Information Manager will act as the principal point of contact for information management matters across the project lifecycle, supporting project mobilisation, delivery, handover and close-out activities.
Responsibilities
- Own, develop, maintain and govern the Project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and interpret client information requirements, including AIRs, EIRs, standards, processes and procedures, ensuring project compliance and alignment.
- Establish, administer and govern Common Data Environments (CDEs) and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Viewpoint and Field View, ensuring effective deployment, governance and utilisation across projects.
- Understand and maintain awareness of system architecture across project software solutions and data environments, ensuring information is accurately captured, maintained and transferred between systems.
- Lead operational and functional management activities for the Information Management team.
- Support project mobilisation through kick-off meetings, project launch sessions and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Liaise with clients and project teams, providing advice on industry standards, information management best practice and digital delivery approaches.
- Facilitate Information Management Steering Groups, workshops, town halls and governance meetings.
- Work closely with commercial teams to support the management and distribution of NEC4 contracts, scope documents, PMIs and related project information.
- Support pre-contract activities, including information management planning, assessments and mobilisation requirements.
- Conduct supply chain information management assessments and ensure supplier compliance with project standards and requirements.
- Coordinate the collection, validation and management of asset information from the supply chain to support client handover requirements.
- Develop and implement project archiving strategies and information retention processes.
- Support lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across projects and programmes.
- Deliver and oversee onboarding, training and awareness sessions relating to information management systems and standards.
- Audit Information Coordinator training and competency compliance across projects.
- Support reporting activities and utilise Power BI and data analysis techniques to monitor performance, compliance and information quality metrics.
- Report progress, risks, issues and opportunities to the Senior Information Manager.

Requirements
- BS EN ISO 19650 accreditation desirable.
- Degree qualification or equivalent experience within Information Management, Digital Engineering, BIM, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of information management principles across the full project lifecycle.
- Demonstrable experience administering and governing Common Data Environments (CDEs) and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
- Advanced knowledge and experience of Viewpoint and Field View platforms.
- Understanding of asset information requirements, asset information models and project information models.
- Working knowledge of Power BI and reporting techniques.
- Understanding of data analysis principles and information quality management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio.
- Basic understanding of project controls and programme management, including reading and interpreting Primavera P6 programmes.
- Experience of working with clients, contractors and supply chain partners within complex project environments.
- Site-based experience desirable.
- Knowledge of NEC4 contract environments desirable.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to influence and promote best practice across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to demanding deadlines.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ability to deliver training, coaching and mentoring activities.
