The Role
As a Digital Engineering Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming how major nuclear and defence programmes are delivered through digital innovation. Acting as the bridge between strategy and execution, you'll lead the operational delivery of digital engineering capabilities across a complex project portfolio, ensuring that digital tools, standards, data governance and information management practices create measurable value.
Day-to-day, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to influence some of the UK's most critical infrastructure and national security programmes while developing a high-performing digital engineering function. You'll collaborate with senior leaders, project teams, customers and technical specialists to drive efficiency, quality and innovation across the business.
- Leading the operational delivery of Digital Engineering across complex programmes and projects.
- Embedding digital tools, standards, information management processes and data workflows into live project environments.
- Collaborating with project managers, delivery teams and customers to implement practical, value-driven digital solutions.
- Establishing governance, assurance and compliance processes that support regulatory, security and client requirements.
- Developing and leading a high-performing Digital Engineering capability while supporting talent development across the function.
This role is full time 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential Experience of the Digital Engineering Lead
- Proven experience leading Digital Engineering, Building Information Modelling or Information Management delivery within infrastructure or the built environment.
- Strong track record of embedding digital practices and ways of working into live projects.
- Experience working across multiple disciplines, including engineering, digital delivery, project controls or information management.
- Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical, scalable delivery solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including customer-facing experience.
Qualifications for the Digital Engineering Lead
Essential:
- Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience in Engineering, Digital Engineering, Information Management, Building Information Modelling or a related discipline.
Advantageous:
- Professional membership or chartered status within a relevant engineering, digital or project management institution.
- Digital Engineering, Building Information Modelling or Information Management certifications.
- Experience within regulated sectors such as nuclear, defence or major infrastructure projects.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
