Digital Engineering Lead
London | Hybrid | Up to £100,000 + Benefits
Arthur is partnering with a leading specialist insurance group to appoint a Digital Engineering Lead as part of a significant investment into its digital and technology capabilities.
This is an opportunity to join at an exciting stage of transformation, with a substantial pipeline of digital engineering work ahead and a major focus on developing modern eTrading and digital insurance products.
The Role
You will take technical ownership across the design and development of modern digital products, working closely with Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design and development of modern digital and eTrading platforms
- Building cloud-native applications using C#,.NET, and Microsoft Azure
- Designing scalable solutions using Azure Functions and serverless architecture
- Developing modern front-end applications using React and TypeScript
- Helping shape the technical direction and architecture of new digital products
- Exploring and implementing practical uses of AI within software development
- Working closely with Product teams to ensure technology delivers an excellent user and customer experience
- Establishing strong engineering standards across development, testing, architecture, security, and CI/CD
- Providing technical leadership while remaining close to the technology and engineering teams

What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced engineering professional who combines strong technical capability with a product-led mindset.
You will ideally have strong experience across C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions, APIs, and serverless architecture.

Experience with React and TypeScript is highly desirable, alongside a strong understanding of how modern digital products should be designed and delivered.
You should be comfortable working closely with Product and business stakeholders and understand that successful engineering is not just about the technology, but also about the product, customer journey, and overall user experience.
Experience within insurance, InsurTech, or financial services would be highly advantageous, particularly exposure to digital insurance or eTrading platforms.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and practical exposure to AI-enabled software engineering would also be beneficial.
