Digital Full Stack Engineer
Digital Full Stack Engineer to join a growing technology team responsible for developing and supporting modern digital products and services.
This is a hands-on software engineering role where you will work across both front-end and back-end technologies, delivering high-quality solutions that provide real value to customers and the wider business. You will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, deployment and operational support.
Working within an Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX Designers, QA Engineers, Architects, and Operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable applications. The role would suit an engineer who enjoys working across the full technology stack and is passionate about building well-designed software while continuously developing their technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development
- Design, develop and maintain applications using React, TypeScript, .NET, and C#.
- Deliver high-quality front-end and back-end solutions across a range of digital products and services.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and secure code that aligns with established engineering standards and best practices.
- Support the delivery of new features and enhancements throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to technical discussions and provide input into solution design.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Create and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
- Contribute to API and user interface test automation frameworks.
- Help ensure software meets quality, security, accessibility, and performance standards.
- Participate in code reviews and support continuous improvements in code quality.
- Assist in identifying and resolving defects throughout development and testing phases.
DevOps & Continuous Delivery
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of CI/CD pipelines.
- Support automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Work within Azure-based environments and support cloud-first development practices.
- Assist in maintaining development standards that improve software reliability and deployment efficiency.
- Promote a culture of automation and continuous improvement.

Production Support & Reliability
- Support the ongoing operation and maintenance of digital applications and services.
- Monitor application performance and assist with troubleshooting technical issues.
- Use logs, dashboards, and monitoring tools to investigate incidents and identify root causes.
- Contribute to observability through appropriate logging, metrics, and monitoring practices.
- Participate in an agreed out-of-hours support rota where required.
- Support incident resolution and help implement improvements to prevent recurring issues.
Agile Delivery & Collaboration
- Work as part of a cross-functional Agile delivery team.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Architects, QA Engineers, and Operations teams.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and team learning activities.
- Support engineering communities, chapters, and guilds that promote best practice across the organisation.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and development practices.
- Contribute to reducing technical debt and improving application maintainability.
- Stay up to date with modern engineering practices and emerging technologies.
- Support the adoption of development standards, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential Technical Skills
- Commercial experience developing applications using React and TypeScript.
- Experience building applications using .NET and C#.
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of full stack software development principles.
- Experience using Git, Bitbucket, or similar version control systems.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience working with cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure.
- Experience writing automated unit and integration tests.
- Knowledge of software design principles and secure coding practices.
- Experience working within Agile software development environments.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with UI or end-to-end testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Exposure to contract testing and API testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools.
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of microservices and cloud-native development approaches.
- Experience working within Financial Services or other regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar work management tools.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have approximately 3-6 years of commercial software development experience and a strong background in full stack engineering. You will be confident working across both front-end and back-end technologies and enjoy delivering high-quality software as part of a collaborative team environment. You will have a proactive approach to problem-solving, be eager to learn and continuously improve, and be committed to delivering reliable and maintainable technical solutions.
This role is ideal for a developer looking to further develop their cloud, DevOps, and full stack engineering skills while contributing to the delivery of innovative digital products.
