Company Description

Girl Engineer (GE) is a nonprofit organisation registered with Malawi Government under Trustees Incorporation Act and NGO Regulatory Authority. We are working with Adolescents Girls and Young Women through Climate Resilience, STEM education and WASH.

Role Description

The Digital Fundraising Manager is a volunteer, remote role responsible for developing and implementing online fundraising strategies to support Girl Engineer’s programs. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Identifying and cultivating relationships with potential donors
  • Managing digital campaigns across email, social media, and online giving platforms
  • Coordinating outreach to individuals, foundations, and corporate partners
  • Creating compelling fundraising content and messaging
  • Tracking campaign performance
  • Preparing regular reports on fundraising outcomes

The role involves collaborating with the leadership team to align fundraising initiatives with organizational priorities and ensure consistent donor stewardship and engagement.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience working with major donors and an understanding of donor cultivation and stewardship practices
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear, persuasive messages for digital campaigns and donor outreach
  • Knowledge of philanthropy and charities, including basic principles of ethical fundraising and donor relations
  • Familiarity with annual giving programs and recurring donation strategies in a non-profit context
  • Experience with digital fundraising tools and platforms (e.g., email marketing, social media, crowdfunding, CRM systems)
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet agreed timelines
  • Commitment to gender equality, STEM education, and the mission of empowering girls and young women
  • Existing networks in Canada, Europe, USA, or the international development sector are an advantage, not a requirement
