About Hartford Advisers
Hartford Advisers is a specialist strategic intelligence and investigations firm advising private equity firms, financial institutions, law firms and multinational corporates worldwide.
We provide independent intelligence and investigative insight that helps clients navigate high-stakes decisions, assess risk and gain a deeper understanding of complex commercial, strategic and reputational issues.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an exceptional Digital Growth & Operations Manager to lead and continually develop our digital marketing capability.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a broad and varied role combining digital growth, CRM management, marketing technology and commercial operations.
You will be responsible for ensuring Hartford has best-in-class marketing systems, processes and technology, while continually identifying new opportunities to improve lead generation, marketing performance and operational efficiency.
This role is unlikely to suit someone whose experience has been limited to large corporate marketing departments with substantial budgets, specialist teams and established processes. We're looking for someone who enjoys building, testing and improving systems in a fast-growing entrepreneurial business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Hartford’s digital growth strategy.
- Own and optimise our HubSpot CRM, including workflows, automation, reporting and data quality.
- Manage and continually improve our outbound marketing activity and associated technology platforms.
- Identify opportunities to increase lead generation through digital channels.
- Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements based on data and analytics.
- Manage Hartford’s website, SEO and digital presence.
- Research, test and implement new marketing technologies and AI tools.
- Work with external suppliers and technology partners to optimise performance.
- Develop dashboards and reporting to monitor marketing activity and commercial performance.
- Continually review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, commercially minded and enjoys building systems that deliver measurable results.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years' experience in B2B digital growth and marketing, marketing operations or revenue operations.
- You can demonstrate that your work has directly contributed to revenue growth. We want someone who can talk in terms of pipeline, meetings booked, conversion rates and ROI - not clicks, impressions and followers.
- Proven track record of helping a small or growing B2B business generate measurable revenue through digital marketing.
- Proven experience using HubSpot CRM, including workflows, reporting and automation.
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale outbound marketing campaigns using platforms such as Instantly, Smartlead or similar.
- Strong understanding of email deliverability, domain reputation, inbox placement and campaign optimisation.
- Commercial mindset. Able to think like a business owner, prioritising activities that directly generate revenue and deliver measurable ROI.
- A "builder" mentality, with a willingness to test, iterate and improve rather than simply manage existing processes.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment with limited resources and a high degree of autonomy.
- Experience with LinkedIn and associated platforms
- Experience with data enrichment and prospecting tools, such as Clay
- Familiarity with AI tools to improve campaign creation, reporting and operational efficiency.
- Experience managing paid LinkedIn or Google Ads campaigns.
- Understanding of B2B sales processes and CRM hygiene.
- Experience using: Hubspot, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Excel/Google Sheets, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Canva (useful but not essential)
