About us
At National Gas, the work we do matters.

While providing the energy security Britain relies on today, we're also helping transform the network for a clean energy future.
Join us and help secure Britain's energy.
About the role
Help shape the digital foundations of Britain's future energy infrastructure.
As Digital Lead for New Molecules, you'll drive the digital strategy across major infrastructure and asset management programmes, ensuring data, systems, and digital processes support safe, efficient, and future-ready delivery. This is an opportunity to influence how emerging energy networks are designed, built, managed, and optimised.
Why this role matters
The UK's energy landscape is evolving, and digital capability will play a critical role in enabling that transition. You'll help create the standards, systems, and insights that support new molecule infrastructure projects from concept through to operation.
Working across engineering, asset management, GIS, technology, and delivery teams, you'll connect people, data, and technology to improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and support innovation. Your expertise will help ensure National Gas is ready to meet future energy challenges with confidence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
