This is an exciting opportunity to work with Digital Learning Wales, which is a small dynamic team. The team are responsible for the development of digital resources within NHS Wales. The postholder will work with Subject Matter Leads in the development of clinical and non-clinical digital resources. You will assist in the maintenance of 2 learning management systems that are in use for NHS and Public Sector Wales. The postholder will liaise with users to support the use of digital learning resources.
This post is fixed term until 31st March 2027 due to meet the needs of the service
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
This will involve supporting and project managing, co-ordinating, developing, promoting and delivering the Digital Learning resources for NHS Wales. This will include elearning design and maintenance. Liaising with a variety of Subject Leads on both clinical and non-clinical content. Development of documentation to support the use of digital resources and learning management systems. Supporting users and Subject Leads on technical queries involving elearning and making recommendations on the user of digital resources and learning management systems.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with all levels of NHS Staff and external parties i.e. Universities, Primary Care, 3rd sector, Welsh Government and Local Authorities, providing them with training, advice and support.

- Learn new IT systems quickly and maintain that knowledge. Maintain up to date knowledge and research on the developments in technology based solutions and make recommendations and where appropriate, implement the most appropriate solutions for the business
- Extensive liaison with technology experts internally and externally, UK Wide
- Represent NWSSP at internal and external meetings as required by the Digital Learning Manager.
- The post holder will attend, on a regular basis, various group to advise on the process for e learning development, support and delivery.
- Attend various Conferences, Workshops, Presentations and formal launches for the Digital Learner Strategy.
The postholder must have e Learning and Train the Trainer delivery skills qualification with experience of delivering IT or web training or equivalent
- Cascade training to trainers in the field who support Digital Learning services.
- The postholder will provide training and delivery as and when, to NHS staff to ensure their competence in the use of systems as required. There will also be a requirement to train external organisations as a part of an income generation scheme.
- Develop lesson plans, course documentation, assessments and handouts for training courses and specialist training
- Plan the development of training plans and schedules
- Advice and liaise with external suppliers when e learning has been commissioned
- Liaise with a wide range of service users to resolve technical issues surrounding e learning content as required
- Respond to user queries in a timely and accurate manner via the All Wales dedicated Action Point for e Learning
- Develop, maintain and analyse on-line questionnaires and surveys to assess user training requirements.
- Source review, test and quality assurance new software.
- Investigate and resolved complex IT related queries in relation to use of different e-learning platforms using judgement on the most appropriate solution.
- Develop other ad hoc technology based solutions (such as on line assessments)
- To enable and support all staff in the training and development changes needed to utilize new technologies and learning materials.
- Liaise with NWIS on the maintenance cycle and upgrade procedures for L@Wales
- Recommend development paths for NHS staff developing in-house e-learning.
- Work with colleagues throughout NHS Wales to promote e-learning
- Organise their own work effectively and work on their own initiative
- Supervise work packages of staff working on E learning across NHS Wales
- Planning the programme of work for NHS Wales with complex topics, timescales and targets.
- Undertake surveys and analyse data with a view to taking forward any actions identified from the evaluation.
- Regularly undertake research on both software requirements and systems development to ensure best standards for Wales
- Regular audits on usage and trends in Learning@NHSWales and providing reports to National Programme Delivery Group.
- Day to day supervision of support administrators
- The postholder must be able to maintain appropriate quality control records and be able to comment on any policies relevant to the service for Wales including Welsh Government directive - Once for Wales and National Strategies including Working Differently, Working Together, and Prudent Healthcare.
- Contributes to NHS Wales income generation for the Digital Learning Strategy.
- Raise requisitions within Oracle against the Digital Learning budget.
- The post holder will be required to use initiative in the use of technology for the creation and design of new e learning programmes. Requirement to maintain version control of documentation and modules for All Wales e-learning materials which will be used as part of audit. Creation of e learning courses for e learning@ NHS Wales and upload onto system.
- Develop and maintain awareness of project management methodologies to ensure the provision of professional project management services
- Undertake research and evaluation of new training tools and e learning applications to establish their benefit to NHS Wales
- The postholder will be guided by standards and local policies, procedures and protocols. Will mainly work autonomously but will be guided by Digital Learning Programme Manager to deliver the Digital Learning strategy for Wales.
