Digital Learning Systems & Adoption Lead

Description

We're looking for an experienced Digital Learning Systems & Adoption Lead to join our IT Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development, administration and adoption of our digital learning platforms while playing a key role in delivering our digital transformation strategy across our different sites.

Reporting to the Deputy IT Director, you will take ownership of our learning technology ecosystem, including Moodle, Turnitin, Microsoft Teams, SMART technologies, eBook platforms and other educational technologies. Working closely with the Quality Team, curriculum colleagues and IT specialists, you will help enhance teaching, learning, assessment and learner engagement through innovative digital solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration and continuous development of Moodle and our wider learning technology estate
  • Manage learning systems, integrations, user access, reporting, plugins and platform performance
  • Design and deliver engaging staff training, workshops, webinars and digital learning resources
  • Lead organisation-wide digital adoption and change initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum and quality teams to enhance the learner experience through technology
  • Evaluate, implement and support emerging educational technologies, including AI-enabled tools
  • Support digital innovation projects, pilot schemes and proof-of-concept initiatives
  • Develop governance, documentation and best practice guidance for learning technologies

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience of administering and developing Moodle
  • Experience of supporting learning technologies such as Turnitin, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, SMART technologies and eBook platforms
  • A good understanding of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and digital learning
  • Experience of designing and delivering training, workshops and digital learning resources
  • Experience of using data and reporting tools to monitor system performance and user engagement
  • Knowledge of educational technology, AI-enabled learning tools, accessibility standards, GDPR and best practice in digital learning
