The University of Salford is looking for an experienced Digital Manager to join our Marketing team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented digital marketer to play a pivotal role in delivering our student recruitment strategy, with particular responsibility for leading the University's Clearing campaign.

About the role

Reporting to the Brand & Campaign manager you'll be responsible for planning, managing and optimising multi-channel digital campaigns that help prospective students find the right course and make informed decisions about their future. Working alongside colleagues across marketing, recruitment, web and communications, you'll ensure our digital activity delivers outstanding results against ambitious recruitment targets.

Alongside leading the Clearing campaign which is one of the busiest periods in the higher education recruitment calendar, you'll oversee a range of digital recruitment campaigns throughout the year, managing external media and creative agencies, monitoring campaign performance, and using data and insight to continually optimise activity across paid search, social media, display, web and analytics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
