A little more about your role…
Energy, Earth, and Environment. You will join a growing team of creative cartographic professionals within our multidisciplinary Planning Consents Graphics and Digital Media Team who are committed to driving digital transformation and advancing our capabilities.
As part of the Planning Consents team, you will support a variety of projects, including renewable energy generation, transmission and distribution, resilient infrastructure, and water management, primarily through Development Consent Orders (DCO) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality are essential. As part of our team, you will prepare and manage digital data from various sources, conduct spatial analysis, and translate technical information into clear visual layouts for non-GIS audiences as figures in support of DCO and EIA applications.
You will play a key role in delivering project-related tasks, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard, consistently exceeding client expectations. You will also contribute to promoting our team’s services both internally and externally.

Responsibilities will include
- Drive multidisciplinary projects by delivering high-quality figure production deliverables, spatial analysis, and data management using ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
- Take ownership of data integrity by managing and validating data capture in house and supplied from third parties
- Deliver outputs that meet established standards, scope, and budget while consistently achieving exceptional quality and client satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored digital mapping solutions
- Share knowledge, ideas, and innovations to strengthen the technical capability of the Graphics and Digital Media team
- Help shape efficient working practices that deliver industry-leading, best-value services to clients.
- Provide cartography expertise across the business wherever needed
- Commit to continuous professional development to stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies
- Be prepared to travel occasionally to other offices for business development and project meetings
- Strong understanding of cartography principles, with the ability to apply them across diverse sectors
- Proven experience in desktop and web GIS, including Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online
- Strong understanding of mapping and copyright requirements in particular Ordnance Survey. Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering quality and identifying opportunities to add value through digital cartography.
- Experience of QGIS, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Understanding of DCOs and EIAs, and how digital delivery supports decision-making

What we would be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Strong understanding of cartography principles, with the ability to apply them across diverse sectors
