I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Application Task
As part of your application, we need you to send us a short video. This isn't a screen test, and you don't need to appear on camera unless you want to; use a voiceover, screen recording, photos, text on screen, props, or anything else you like.
The brief: in no more than 90 seconds, promote something you love, whether a product, a place, an app, a book or a local café. Make us want to try it too.
We're not looking for a polished, professionally edited film. A video recorded on a phone is absolutely fine. What we're interested in is your thinking, your enthusiasm, and a bit of creative flair.
- A clear and engaging message
- Genuine interest and enthusiasm
- Creativity and original thinking
- A sense of who you are and what you'd bring to the team
How to send it: please upload your video as an unlisted YouTube link or a shared OneDrive or Google Drive link, and include the link in your cover letter.
We will not consider your application without the video.
