Director of Digital Marketing - Consumer

6mth FTC plus benefits

Location

London office + hybrid working

We’re working exclusively with a major consumer brand to appoint a Director of Digital Marketing for a high-profile interim leadership role, starting ASAP. This is a substantial digital leadership brief with performance marketing firmly at its heart, responsible for driving customer acquisition, digital trading, and campaign performance across a large-scale, multi-product consumer business.

We’re looking for an accomplished digital leader who combines strategic thinking with a genuinely hands-on approach. Someone comfortable setting the direction and influencing at senior level, but equally able to get close to the detail, interrogate performance, and ensure campaigns are being delivered brilliantly. The non-negotiables are deep performance marketing expertise, strategic leadership, and proven hands-on campaign delivery within a consumer framework.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

To be considered:

This is not a purely brand-led or high-level strategic marketing role. We need someone who has operated in sophisticated, high-volume performance environments and remains comfortable getting under the bonnet of campaigns, channels, and results. You’re likely to have operated at Director / VP level within a sizeable consumer, subscription, eCommerce, or digitally led organisation, with experience managing significant budgets, complex channel mixes, and senior specialist teams. Previous interim or contract experience is strongly preferred. We’re looking for someone accustomed to joining complex organisations, getting up to speed quickly, and making an impact from day one. Crucially, you’ll be able to demonstrate where you have personally shaped performance strategy, translated it into campaigns, and driven measurable commercial outcomes.
