The Role
We're looking for a skilled writer who lives in Yorkshire and has experience of writing SEO optimised content for websites. They like to be in the know of what's happening in the food, drink and events scene in Yorkshire. They can write in an engaging way to hook readers' interest, inform and write as if they're talking to a friend. Able to write long-form content (e.g. guides/news/features) and short-form content (e.g. for YFG’s e-newsletter, restaurant, event and product pages). They’ll also feel confident travelling across the region to client shoots, feel comfortable eating and presenting on camera/providing voiceovers for social videos.
The successful applicant will also need to be comfortable and fully on board with using AI as part of their role. This includes using AI tools to support research, idea generation, content planning, editing and optimisation, as well as using AI when writing and adapting copy across YFG’s website, social media, email, app and other platforms. They should be curious about new AI tools and ways of working, while understanding the importance of applying their own judgement, creativity, expertise and YFG’s tone of voice to everything they produce.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
