About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Music Licensing Specialist to join our dynamic team at Sony Music Entertainment China Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for managing licensing agreements, negotiating terms with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music rights management, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for the music industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with artists, publishers, and legal teams to facilitate the seamless distribution and utilization of music content across multiple platforms and markets.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Music Business, or a related field. Prior experience in music licensing, rights management, or intellectual property law is highly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners. A thorough understanding of copyright laws, licensing procedures, and digital distribution platforms is essential. Fluency in Mandarin and English is required, with additional language skills considered an advantage. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all licensing agreements related to music content, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with company policies.
- Negotiate licensing terms and conditions with artists, publishers, digital platforms, and other stakeholders to maximize revenue and protect intellectual property rights.
- Coordinate with legal teams to draft, review, and finalize licensing contracts, amendments, and related documentation.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of licensing agreements, rights ownership, and usage rights for all music assets.
- Monitor industry trends, legal developments, and digital distribution channels to identify new licensing opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with marketing, A&R, and digital teams to support licensing initiatives that enhance brand visibility and revenue generation.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding licensing procedures, rights management, and legal compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including artists, rights holders, and industry associations.
