About The Role
The Borgen Project is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Policy Advocacy Coordinator. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and executing advocacy strategies aimed at influencing policy changes related to global poverty alleviation. You will serve as a liaison between the organization and policymakers, community stakeholders, and partner organizations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a deep understanding of international development issues, and a passion for social justice. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful change by engaging with government officials, conducting research, and organizing campaigns that advance our mission.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field. Prior experience in advocacy, lobbying, or policy analysis is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are required. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital advocacy tools will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a genuine commitment to social justice issues and have a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing strategic advocacy plans to promote policies that address global poverty.
- Conducting research on policy issues, preparing briefing documents, and drafting position papers that support advocacy efforts.
- Building and maintaining relationships with government officials, community leaders, and partner organizations to foster collaborative initiatives.
- Organizing and participating in advocacy events, meetings, and campaigns to raise awareness and garner support for our causes.
- Monitoring legislative developments and providing timely updates to the organization’s leadership.
- Tracking and analyzing the impact of advocacy activities, as well as preparing reports on progress and outcomes.
