DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER – BIRMINGHAM / HYBRID

ABOUT THE CLIENT

We’re working with an established independent digital agency based in Birmingham that has built a strong reputation for delivering results across SEO and wider digital channels. Due to continued growth and team development, they’re looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to take ownership of client strategy and delivery across a varied portfolio of accounts.

THE DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER ROLE:

As Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll take ownership of strategy and delivery across a portfolio of approximately 20 client accounts, with the majority focused heavily on SEO.

You’ll act as the senior search specialist within the business, setting SEO and AI search strategy across client accounts and connecting this with the wider digital channel mix.

You’ll work closely with specialists across content, digital PR, web and PPC, turning strategy into clear briefs and priorities while ensuring delivery remains on track.

This is a senior, hands-on role rather than a pure account management or project coordination position, so you’ll need to be comfortable setting strategy, making decisions and taking full ownership of client outcomes.

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • At least 4 years’ experience in digital marketing
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior SEO position
  • Strong agency-side client experience
  • Proven experience independently setting and owning SEO strategy
  • Strong knowledge across technical, on-page, content, local and off-page SEO
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
  • Confidence leading client calls and presenting performance
  • Strong understanding of algorithm updates and AI search developments
  • Ability to translate SEO strategy into clear commercial recommendations
  • Experience briefing specialists across content, PR, web and PPC
  • Strong project and workload management skills
  • Ability to manage several deadlines and priorities at once
  • Confident handling difficult client conversations
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Experience with Monday.com or similar project management tools would be beneficial
