About the Role
This is a strong next step for an experienced digital marketer who is ready for more ownership, greater client exposure and the opportunity to influence digital strategy.
You’ll join an established creative and digital marketing agency with an experienced team across web, design, social and creative. The agency works with a varied mix of B2B and B2C clients, so you’ll encounter different audiences, commercial challenges and campaign objectives.
SEO and Google Ads will be your main areas of expertise, but your working week will be broader than search alone. You could move from reviewing campaign performance and updating a landing page to shaping a content plan or collaborating with the creative team on a new client brief.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll own digital activity across a portfolio of clients, from initial planning and onboarding through to delivery, optimisation and reporting.
This isn’t an account management role where the technical work is passed to another team. You’ll be the person getting into the campaigns, identifying opportunities and making improvements.
Your role will include:
- Developing SEO strategies across technical, on-page and content activity
- Creating, managing and improving Google Ads campaigns
- Planning and optimising website content, landing pages and blogs through WordPress
- Using GA4, Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager to understand performance
- Turning data into clear recommendations that clients can act on
- Working with colleagues across the agency to deliver joined-up campaigns

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You’ll build direct relationships with your clients, helping them understand what is working and identifying opportunities to broaden their digital activity where it makes sense. You’ll also have a genuine voice in how the agency’s digital services continue to develop.
What we’re looking for
You’ll probably have around three years of digital marketing experience and be ready to show examples of SEO and paid search campaigns you have personally delivered.
Your current job title matters less than your level of experience. You could be a Digital Marketing Executive or Senior Digital Marketing Executive looking for your first Manager-level opportunity, or already operating at this level and looking for more variety.
The most important things are:
- Proven, hands-on experience across SEO and Google Ads
- Confidence working with WordPress and digital analytics tools
- The ability to connect campaign performance with leads, conversions and commercial results
- A technical and detail-focused approach, balanced with clear client communication
- The organisation to manage several accounts and priorities at once
Broader experience across email marketing, paid social, content or conversion optimisation would be useful, but you won’t need to tick every box. More importantly, you’ll be curious about how digital marketing and search are evolving and keen to bring new ideas to both clients and the wider agency.

Recruiter’s Thoughts
Ben Phillips is managing this role and says:
“What stands out to me is that there’s an established and experienced team around you, but you’ll still have the space to take ownership, work directly with clients and see the impact of your ideas. The Manager title shouldn’t put you off if you haven’t held it before. They’re open to someone stepping up who already has strong, hands-on SEO and paid search experience. For someone who enjoys the practical side of digital marketing but wants more trust, variety and visibility, it feels like a genuinely good next move.”
Location
The role is based in Southend-on-Sea, with hybrid working that includes three days each week in the office. The office is commutable from within Essex including Billericay, Wickford, Brentwood, Rayleigh, Chelmsford, Basildon, Canvey Island, Stanford-le-Hope, Grays, Thurrock and the surrounding areas.
