About Wellcome Trust
The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.
We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.
These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won't be solved by science alone.
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
You will be working within the Communications team in Corporate Affairs, reporting to the Content Lead. The team is responsible for ensuring Wellcome's content, communications and audience engagement activities support the organisation's mission and strategic objectives.
The Communications team works collaboratively across Wellcome to build awareness, reputation and influence among a wide range of audiences, including policymakers, researchers, partners and the wider public. This role plays an important part in ensuring that Wellcome's digital communications reach and engage the right audiences through effective paid media, email marketing and audience development strategies.
What will I be doing?
As Digital Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of Wellcome's digital marketing strategy, with responsibility for paid media and newsletter programmes. You will use audience insight, data, experimentation and AI-enabled tools to optimise performance, grow engagement and help ensure that Wellcome's communications effectively support organisational priorities and influence objectives. Working across multiple teams, you will champion best practice in digital marketing, build organisational capability and help modernise Wellcome's approach to audience engagement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
