The Role & What You Will Be Doing

The Digital Marketing Officer is responsible for planning, delivering and optimising digital marketing campaigns, customer engagement and omnichannel activities in support of brand and business objectives across the UK business.

Working closely with brand teams, customer facing teams and cross functional stakeholders, the role owns the delivery of digital campaigns, customer engagement activities and digital platforms that enhance customer experience and improve engagement.

The role provides digital expertise, recommendations and constructive challenge to support engagement planning and decision making, ensuring activities are insight led, compliant and aligned with customer and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of digital marketing and customer engagement plans aligned to business and brand objectives
  • Provide digital expertise, recommendations and constructive challenge to support planning, decision making and campaign development
  • Confidence communicating and presenting digital plans, recommendations, performance insights and opportunities to stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Support the development of customer engagement activities, journeys and personalised communications across relevant channels
  • Own and manage the end to end delivery of digital campaigns, projects and platforms, ensuring activities are aligned with business objectives, customer needs
  • Lead the execution, deployment and optimisation of digital activities across relevant channels, including email, websites, analytics, CRM, webinars and other customer engagement platforms
  • Monitor campaign performance, customer engagement and channel effectiveness, providing recommendations for optimisation and continuous improvement
  • Use customer and campaign insights to provide recommendations that improve customer experience, engagement and business outcomes
  • Manage and optimise digital platforms, including websites, CRM, SFMC, social media, ensuring content is accurate, compliant, customer focused and aligned with business objectives
  • Manage relationships with agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure high quality delivery of digital activities
  • Monitor competitor activity, digital trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
  • Ensure all digital activities comply with relevant company policies, compliance standards, industry regulations and governance requirements, including ABPI, PAGB, Pharmacovigilance (PV) and data privacy requirements
  • Champion the adoption of digital tools, customer engagement approaches and omnichannel ways of working to improve campaign effectiveness and customer experience

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Significant experience in digital marketing, digital engagement or a related role, with a proven track record of delivering digital campaigns, customer engagement activities and platform management
  • Understanding of digital marketing channels and customer engagement approaches, including email, web, search, social and marketing automation
  • Experience using customer, campaign and performance data to generate insights and recommendations
  • Experience using email marketing, database management and CRM/marketing automation platforms
  • Experience working with digital platforms, websites or content management systems (CMS) and google analytics
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical, challenge and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and proactively identify opportunities to improve customer engagement and digital effectiveness

Desirable

  • Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare or other regulated industries
  • Understanding of customer engagement, omnichannel and customer journey planning
  • Experience with Veeva, Salesforce, SFMC, Sitecore or similar CMS platforms
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation, personalisation and customer experience principles
  • Understanding of ABPI, PAGB or relevant compliance frameworks
  • Awareness of AI enabled tools and emerging digital technologies
  • Degree or professional qualification in marketing, digital marketing, communications or a related discipline (e.g. CIM, IDM or equivalent)
