Digital Marketing Officer

9-Month Fixed-Term Contract | £35,000–£40,000 per annum | Cambridgeshire | Full-Time

We are working with a longstanding client in the Cambridgeshire area to recruit a Digital Marketing Officer for a 9-month maternity cover contract.

This is a hands-on marketing role, supporting the delivery of digital marketing activity across a portfolio of professional and executive education programmes. Working as part of a wider marketing function, you will help implement existing and new digital strategies, create and manage content across multiple channels, support programme launches and work closely with internal teams, external partners and academic stakeholders.

The Role

You will be responsible for a broad range of digital marketing activity, including:

  • Creating and managing social media content and campaigns
  • Producing engaging written and visual marketing content
  • Supporting the launch and promotion of new programmes
  • Updating website content and creating new pages using existing templates
  • Working with academic and internal teams to develop advertising campaigns
  • Coordinating with third-party partners on campaign activity and approvals
  • Supporting email, CRM and wider digital marketing activity
  • Helping to develop and deliver webinars and other digital events
  • Gathering client recommendations and supporting customer-focused marketing activity
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of the wider digital marketing strategy

Requirements

We are looking for someone with at least 1–2 years' experience in a digital marketing role, with a strong mix of creative, digital and organisational skills.

You should have:

  • Hands-on social media marketing experience
  • Strong copywriting and written communication skills
  • Experience using creative and content tools such as Canva, InDesign and/or Hootsuite
  • Experience updating website content using WordPress or a similar CMS
  • Experience using a CRM system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, self-starting approach

Previous experience within education, publishing, professional learning or a related environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Job Details

  • Salary: £35,000–£40,000
  • Contract: 9-month fixed-term maternity cover
  • Location: Cambridgeshire, on site 2 days a week
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Start: 19 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter

Recruitment Process
