Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Plan, create, schedule and publish useful, on-brand content across relevant social channels.
- Support SEO, PPC, paid social, organic social, content marketing and email campaigns.
- Use Google Ads and relevant Google tools, including Analytics, Merchant Center and Search Console, to support campaigns, product visibility and performance reporting.
- Monitor core commercial and marketing measures such as traffic, engagement, conversion, return on ad spend, revenue, margin and average order value; explain what the numbers suggest and recommend next steps.
- Research and contact suitable influencers, creators, clubs and community partners; maintain professional outreach and follow-up.
- Create simple graphics and campaign assets using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
- Capture basic product photography and short-form photo/video content, then complete straightforward editing, resizing, captioning and preparation for web or social use.
- Develop confident, practical use of AI systems and large language models such as ChatGPT and Claude across marketing, research, outreach, ecommerce, analysis, drafting and day-to-day workflow improvement.
- Explore how AI can improve the quality, consistency and scale of the company's outreach while preserving an authentic brand voice and appropriate human judgement.
- Treat AI output as a working draft rather than an unquestioned source: verify facts, prices, product details, claims, calculations, tone, copyright considerations and suitability before use or publication.
- Build transferable AI literacy as an important part of future professional development within marketing and the wider industry.
- Maintain accurate, attractive product listings, collections, pricing, images and promotional content on Shopify and related website systems.
- Support onsite merchandising, landing pages, product launches, basic website updates and conversion improvements.
- Check product information carefully and help identify broken links, stock discrepancies or customer journey issues.
- Picking, packing and dispatching online orders is a core, regular responsibility of this role - not an occasional extra. You must work accurately, protect products appropriately, select and apply the correct paperwork or labels, meet collection cut-offs and raise stock, address or order issues promptly.
- Welcome customers, understand their needs and provide friendly, knowledgeable product guidance and appropriate recommendations.
- Operate the till/POS, process cash and card payments accurately, and handle routine customer enquiries, returns or issues in line with company policy.
- Answer telephone, email and online enquiries where required and maintain professional communication throughout.
- Build trust with newcomers, established players, parents, collectors and event participants while helping create an inclusive store environment.
- Handle the buying and trading-in of cards with customers, following all company authorisation, identification, record-keeping and transaction processes.
- Assess card condition consistently and use approved company systems, market data and processes to research pricing and valuation; escalate unusual, high-value or uncertain items.
- Explain offers and transactions clearly and professionally without making unauthorised commitments.
- Sort, catalogue, organise, sleeve, protect and store cards accurately, maintaining security and traceability.
- Support singles inventory, stock updates, presentation and fulfilment while treating customer property and high-value stock with care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
