About The Role
The Borgen Project is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Policy Advocacy Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advocacy strategies aimed at influencing policy decisions at the federal and state levels. You will serve as a key liaison between the organization and government officials, community partners, and stakeholders to advance our mission of ending global poverty. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of public policy processes, and a passion for social justice. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a tangible impact on international development efforts and to gain valuable experience in advocacy, policy analysis, and nonprofit management.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in advocacy, policy analysis, or related roles within nonprofit or governmental organizations.
- Strong understanding of legislative processes, government relations, and advocacy strategies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, community leaders, and media representatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advocacy tools, and social media platforms.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute advocacy campaigns aimed at influencing policy decisions related to international development and poverty alleviation.
- Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government agencies, and community organizations to promote the organization’s initiatives.
- Monitor legislative developments and prepare detailed reports and position papers to inform organizational strategies.
- Coordinate meetings, briefings, and lobbying efforts to engage stakeholders and advocate for policy change.
- Represent The Borgen Project at conferences, forums, and public events to raise awareness and garner support for our causes.
- Create and disseminate advocacy materials, including newsletters, social media content, and policy briefs.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop messaging strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of advocacy initiatives to inform future campaigns and strategies.
